Introduction
Nantwich is
fast becoming one of the region's Gourmet Capitals. With its famous Food and
Drink Festival, celebrated Farmers' Market and renowned food shops, it is a
destination of choice for the region's food lovers.
The County of Cheshire offers so much to
tempt your palate - world famous Cheshire cheese, over fifty flavours of ice
cream, organically and home
reared meats, chutneys and jams, fresh trout, speciality breads and
confectionary, artisan chocolates, bottle conditioned beers, and even English wine!
All of this produce and much, much more is available from Nantwich's speciality
shops and markets.
Nantwich,
with its stunning Tudor architecture, is becoming ever more popular as a place
to dine out. Our town's restaurants have built up fine reputations and our
array of traditional cafés and teashops are a great attraction for day
visitors. There is also an incredible cultural diversity with award-winning
French, Indian, Chinese, Italian restaurants serving cuisine from the
"four corners of the earth".

Summer 2009:
Did you know about
Nantwich's weekly
Country
Market? It's a co-operative social enterprise selling a range
of home-made and home-grown produce from individual producers
(including fresh fruit and veg from the local allotments). A
great source for an unusual hamper too. Find it in the Market Hall
every Thursday from 8am - 1pm. |

achieving
Fairtrade Town status in 2009. Food and drink outlets
serving/selling Fairtrade products are being identified - see on this
web site. Nantwich Town Council has issued a resolution in support of
Fairtrade. Businesses are being persuaded to use Fairtrade products. The
Chairman of the Steering Group is Chris Challoner. Says Chris: "Choose products with the
